Five Reasons Why this Project is Webby-Worthy
Hi judge. Thanks for looking at our entry. We know you have a ton of these to look at.
We also know what awards case study videos can be like — long on bullshit, short on insight. So we skipped the advertising for the advertising and made this landing page a really brief overview of why we think this project is different enough and good enough to deserve an award. We hope you agree.
If you're short on time, just hit the 'Visit the Site' button and see for yourself.

It's a data story that doesn't talk about data.
The only thing less interesting than piles of data is talking about managing piles of data. So instead of making another boring white paper about the staggering pile of data Dell Technologies helps McLaren capture, transport, secure, store and crunch, we literally showed the data's journey during a simulated real-time race with multiple POVs. Beats the hell out of a PDF.

We collaborated like most agency partners don't.
By getting to know our clients, our clients' clients, and our clients' partners, and really learning what moves them and what's important to them, we were able to get access to amazing footage, great insights and really useful stories that gave this experience depth. Mixed with some hard work on our part, we created something compelling.

It works because it has pretty broad appeal.
Racing fans, tech nerds, racing nerds. Anyone who likes cool things. By giving it the genuine appeal of a video game that invites you to tinker with it, the experience does what almost no B2B marketing does — it makes an emotional connection.

It is uniquely digital.
Most stuff online isn't actually interactive and doesn't use the nature of digital media well at all: videos that could have run on TV, content or websites that could have been print ads. Not this site. This case gives the user control over the experience, and uses interactivity to tell a complex story in a relatively simple, though still enriching, way. And it's fun.

RACECARS!
Seriously, it's all about racecars. Really it's about data, but with racecars. Name the last business case you saw with a soundtrack that vibrates the floor. See, pretty cool.
This is usually the part where the agency presents some stats out of context to exaggerate how successful the project was. We unfortunately can't do that, even though it was very successful; that information is private and proprietary. But we can say this project has become the gold standard for our client and has been awarded and short-listed multiple times since launch. So as they say at the end of these things, "it has been a huge success."
But again, see for yourself.
